Here she was last year! So tiny and sweet!
The Easter Bunny visited us again this year and brought Miss Pretty lots of new books with the touch and feel spots on them. She loves those. She also got spoiled by both sets of Grandparents. It was fun!
We finally had her 12 month Dr appointment last week. Everything is great! Here's her stats:
Weight: 19 lbs, 13 oz. (21%)
Height: 30 1/2 inches (80%) surprising considering her parents are oompa loompa's.
She hasn't gotten her shots yet. They were out of MMR so we have to go back this week to get them. We are also going to attempt to remove the binky this week. She's gotten very attached to it when she sleeps so when she loses it in the night, she screams until I get up to give it back and I find that it's not very healthy for either of us. I'm surprised with all of the controversy that we've gotten about it from both sides of the fence. In my own opinion. . .which really is the one that matters in this case because i'm the parent. . . it's totally up to the parents and what works for them. If it's time, it's time! Okay, i'll get off my soap box now.
Anywhoo. . . she's been doing a lot of funny things these past few weeks! Here are a few:
She knows where her tummy is and when you say "Booda booda booda" she pats her tummy with her hands. It's cute! (no i'm not implying that she's overweight!)
She loves to make a mess. . . give her a bucket of toys and she'll have it emptied in no time and scattered! Also works with laundry (see pic in slide show).
She's found that her finger fits nicely into her nostril and often sticks it up there. Reminds me of her Uncle Ben!
This Saturday is the Salt Lake Half Marathon. I'm proud to be representin' EAst High! I did have a chance to change my race to the 5K, but decided that I needed to stick it out with my BFF Brynn. So I've been doing some last minute training and on Monday was so freakin' proud of myself. While we were in Pocatello, I actually ran/walked 8 miles throughout the streets of Poky. Brynn can vouch for me, she called me while I was in route. While it was hard and the next day, I thought my legs might actually fall off at the hips, it wasn't as hard as I thought it would be and I made it! So this Saturday is the 13.1 miler. I'll post pics if I survive. I will also be posting a new post with my weight loss challenge to myself. It's time guys! I'm tired of being chubby and not having any clothes that fit.
Enjoy the slide show.

We didn't get rid of Lauren's binky until about 6 weeks ago - keep in mind she's 2 1/2! Every time we tried it ended up being 2 weeks of hell and NO ONE getting any sleep. This last time, she finally was fine with it. But you're right - why put everyone in the family through that just to say that she's rid of the binky? Try it out - you never know, she might have a rough couple of days, but don't beat yourself up about it if you give it back. And now I'll get off my soapbox.
Way to go on the 1/2 marathon - woot woot!
Good luck on the 1/2 marathon!
Colton loves to dump everything out. I am surprised at how fast he can dump all his toys out all over the front room.
Um, one of my FAVORITE books is How To Solve Your Child's Sleep Problems...we had a few problems with sleep and Carter, that was the book the sleep specialist we saw recommended to us, and I have to agree. It's really worth the read, I still refer to it, Carter STILL doesn't sleep. However, he refers in his book to "sleep ques" the binky is one of those, she associates the binky with sleep so when she wakes in the middle of the night she wants it returned the same way as when she went to sleep. ANYWAY....it's a really good read, we had the same problem too. Just stick with it, you'll be surprised how quickly she adjusts, until then, find a nice pair of ear plugs so you don't cry with her :)
Oh, and you're AWESOME! Kick some killer running butt on your race, you'll do amazing. I totally admire you for even attempting it!!
